Art and Architecture

The Rashtrakutas made a splendid contribution to art and architecture. The rock cut shrines at Ellora and Elephanta are unique in their own way. The sculptured panels of Dasavatara, Bhairava, Ravana shaking the mount Kailash, dancing Siva, Vishnu and Lakshmi listening to music are superb. The Siva temple at Ellora was built by Krishna I. This temple is made up of solid rocks. It is considered to be an architectural marvel..
